I sat down next to the stream━my chin rest on my knees as I tried to hide to the fact my father died. When I got home, I noticed that my mother wasn't home, meaning that she probably haven't heard of the news. When she got home, she saw me sitting on their bed━holding the cape and the patch with tears streaming down my cheeks. The two of us embrace with sadness as we mourned about our beloved man in our lives.

My eyes are red and I can feel my orbs getting more and more empty. My body is sore and weak and I think my soul just left my body. My heart is absolutely broken right now. "Without my father, whose gonna tell more stories about the Titans or tell what the outside world looks like.." I thought as I hid myself further down so people won't pity me.

I heard faint calls of my name as I pop my head out a little, only to see Eren with Mikasa and Armin running up to me. I was about to tell them to be quiet but Armin immediately tackled me to a hug.

"Mia, I'm so sorry for what happened to your dad!" He cried

My frown deepened as I pulled away from Armin's embrace, "Thanks... for your concern.." I mumbled

I heard Armin gasped at my reaction. In reality, I would always hug him━whether a protective hug or just a friendly one. I always like Armin's hugs, but right now, I just don't feel like it. 

The trio sat around and Eren started grumbling about his mom stopping him from joining the Scouts and how badly he just wants to go to the outside world and just be free. Armin told him it's because of the walls and the government policies, no one even dared to speak about what's outside and Eren just dissed on the statement, which led to Mikasa scolding him. 

"Why do I care?! You ratted me out either way," He fired back, which alarmed me

"What? Your parents knew about you joining the Scouts?" I asked

Eren looked back at me, "Yeah, and they're not happy about it," He answered

I sighed as my gaze went back to the stream as Armin spoke again, "It's sad, what most people here are willing to settle for in exchange for some fleeting sense of security, you know?" He stated as a strong wind blew, "And made no mistake, it absolutely is fleeting. The walls can't hold forever," I shivered at his choice of words

"Only a matter of time.." He finished, along with the strong wind

Only a mere seconds of silence and a loud crack of lighting was heard outside and a intense earthquake erupted, making the four of us fall off our seats. I was so shock that I wasn't able to stand up from the ground. 

"Hey, Armin! Wait up!" I heard Eren called out for his best friend 

Mikasa helped me up as we ran with Eren to catch up with Armin. I saw people who assembled at the at the center of town. They were looking and pointing on top of the wall as I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"Hey Armin! What's wrong? Talk to us," I called out 

His eyes were glued to the top of the wall as I whipped my head to the commotion. I gasped when a saw a flesh hand gripping the top━crushing it. There was steam everywhere as a flesh head slowly erupted from behind the wall. We all knew it was a titan━a titan that is taller than the wall. There was a few moment of silence as I noticed that the titan was moving, "Is it gonna destroy the wall?!" I panicked as I took a step back. All of a sudden, there was a booming sound and rocks and boulders started flying all over Shinganshina. I slowly sat up and to only see and hear screams, yells, wails and sobbing started to echo around the city. Building and houses are destroyed. Dust, smoke, dead bodies and blood were everywhere. Families were desperate to get their loved ones out of their death as other people tried to escape the battlefield.

My breathing quivered when I see the horrors that happened to my city. Armin was in complete panic, trying to swallow in the situation. I looked around and saw Eren walking towards where his house is, "Eren, no! Where are you going?!" I yelled

"My... House... mom's all alone.." He mumbled as he and Mikasa started running towards their house

"Mom... OH GOD, MOM!" I thought as I abruptly ran towards my house, "No.. mom's all alone. I can't... I can't let another one die!" I cried as I arrived at our house. The walls were still standing, but the roof had fallen off. I tried to find my mother in the pile, but with blurry vision because of my tears, I had difficulty finding her, until I tripped over something. Thinking that it was some sort of wood, I continued but to no avail I was able to find her.

Then, a Garrison guard landed at my location, panting, "Mia! What are you still doing here?!" He yelled, as if he was in a hurry

"M-Mr. Garrison, please find my mom!" I cried, gripping his uniform out of desperation

I hesitated for a second, before carrying me by my waist, "No time! She's probably dead," He stated as he started to take off in his ODM gear

I gasped at his words as I looked back to my home. Our home. Where stories of titan slaying has been told, food have been made and enjoyed, fights been resolved and all the love, are now gone with the dust. Then I notice that made me cry more, a hand━under the large amount of debris, with a familiar wedding ring and a handmade bracelet. I knew it was my mom.

Me and the Garrison guard arrived at the boats as I saw many people crowding around the last boat━pleading to the guards to take them or maybe just their children. The Garrison guard led me in, informing the other that I was now alone and I was a daughter of a Scout. I slowly sat down as my body fell numb. Lost my parents to the titans, I have no one now, but my friends.

"Oh no, Eren and the others, where are they??" I questioned myself as I tried to calm myself, trying not to think of any worse scenario that might happen to them

I looked back at people and pitied them. All I wanted was a peaceful life, how could this all happen in just a mere second. Then, I notice familiar locks of blonde hair and I knew it was Armin. As he steps in with his grandfather, I immediately ran up to him and pulled him to a weak hug

"Mia! Wh-what happened?! Where's Mrs. Ichinose??" He asked

I froze before breaking down into tears as I tried to explain to him what happened. I heard him gasp as he wrapped his arms around me, "I-I'm... sorry.." He whispered

"Ar...Armin," I sobbed, "I-I.. I don't know wha-what to do now..."

He was speechless as the two of us sat down and waited for the boat to move. Armin stood up, saying that he'll wait for Eren and Mikasa as I nodded in reply.

Few minutes had passed, he tapped on my shoulder, "They're here," He said as I stood up

I was about to call them, but I saw the look in their eyes. Fear. Sadness. Anger. Desperation. I knew that they must have seen something worse. I also noticed that Ms. Carla (I got used to calling her that) wasn't with them, but Hannes is. "Did she... died as well?" I thought as I shook off the bad vibes

"Lay low for a while, kids..." Armin's grandfather spoke, "They have seen something much worse.." He added as his gaze lowered

The two boarded the boat as the Garrison guards lifted the board and announcing to everyone left behind that the boat will now sail. I gasped as many people desperately tried to jump in, but they failed. I covered my ears to block off the screams of Shinganshina and also the loud, fast thumping coming from inside of the wall.

Dawn had arrived and everyone in the boat was quietly mumbling how are they going to survive or if the titans are going to attack again. I heard some shuffling behind me as I looked up and saw Eren moving towards the side of the boat. I gasped when I saw his eyes, burning with hatred and anger as he slams his bruised hands on the sidelines.

"I'm gonna terminate every last one of them!" He declared with anger, "I'll kill them all.."

I stood up and gripped his jacket sleeve, "Eren, calm down-" I was cut off when he pushed me to the ground

I groaned as pain shot up to my bottom as Mikasa helped me up while Armin held Eren back.

"CALM DOWN?! DO YOU EXPECT ME TO CALM DOWN WHEN I LITERALLY JUST SAW MY MOM GETTING EATEN BY A TITAN?!" He yelled as he tried to push Armin off

I felt offended by his words, "You think... you were the one suffering...?" I muttered as they stopped, "You think... you're the only one who saw the only person you love  dies...?" I added

"Mia..." I heard Eren calling out as I shot up and grabbed him by his jacket, "I WASN'T ABLE TO SAVE MY MOTHER TOO, GODDAMNIT! SHE WAS THERE, CRUSHED BY MY OWN HOUSE AND DEAD!" I shouted, "AND MY FATHER DIED SERVING HUMANITY. FOR GOD'S SAKE EREN, WAKE UP! PEOPLE ARE MEANT TO DIE TO THE TITANS!" 

I didn't mean to say those last words, but I was already fuming with stress, anxiety, anger and guilt. Angrily, I pulled my arm off Mikasa's grip and walked towards the corner of the boat. 

"Way to go.." Mikasa commented at Eren as she went where I was sitting

I shot up from my bed, when I felt something stinging my body. I threw the covers off me and slipped on my shoes and ran to big bro Zeke's room. Calming my racing heart, I softly knocked on the his room and waited. I heard muttered shuffling in the background before he opens the door.

"Mona? What are you doing here late at night?" He asked as he ushered me inside

I gulped before speaking, "Um.. Zeke, I felt this weird sting in my body and also I felt more numb and weak as I arrive here,"

Zeke sweatdropped as he kneels in front of me, "Zeke, what's going on with me?" I asked

"The Jaw Titan has been eaten, means that..." He hesitated as I looked at him worriedly, ".. Marcel is dead,"

My eyes widened, "no..."
